Job summary

MasTec Renewables is seeking a UAS Manager to lead the Unmanned Aerial Systems program across a portfolio of renewable energy projects. You will direct a team of pilots, set standards, manage aircraft and sensor fleets, and ensure FAA compliance and on-time, on-budget data delivery for geospatial products.

Remote with 25–50% travel within the United States, you will partner with geomatics leadership, project teams, and clients to align operations with strategy and capacity needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Geospatial Science, Aviation, GIS, Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years in UAS operations with at least three years in a lead, supervisory, or management role.
• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification maintained in good standing.
• Experience managing or leading UAS programs, teams, or field operations in support of surveying, mapping, engineering, construction, utility, infrastructure, or renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and develop the UAS team across projects.
• Own SOPs, workflows, and deliverable specifications.
• Ensure QA/QC standards for UAS data collection.
• Manage fleet, sensor inventory, and lifecycle.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies for permits and waivers.
• Plan UAS support with estimating and project management.
• Maintain FAA Part 107 certification and recurrent training.
