Job summary

MasTec Renewables seeks an experienced UAS Manager to lead our UAS program across surveying and geomatics projects. You will supervise commercial pilots, set SOPs, and drive data quality and regulatory compliance while supporting project execution on assigned renewable energy sites.

You will coordinate with project teams, manage fleet and sensor inventory, and mentor a growing team to deliver accurate geospatial products on schedule and within budget. Remote with travel across the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Geospatial Science, Aviation, GIS, Engineering or related field.
• 5 years experience in UAS operations or geospatial data collection with leadership experience.
• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification in good standing.
• Experience leading UAS programs, teams, or field ops in surveying, mapping, or renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and develop the UAS team and manage hiring, scheduling, and performance reviews.
• Set priorities and allocate personnel/equipment across concurrent projects to meet schedule and budget.
• Build and maintain training, onboarding, and certification programs for safety and regulatory compliance.
• Own SOPs, workflows, and deliverable specs; ensure consistency across portfolio.
• Establish QA/QC standards for data collection and verify deliverables meet specs.
