Job summary

MasTec Renewables seeks a UAS Manager to lead the unmanned aerial systems program across renewable energy projects. You will direct a pilots team, set standards, manage fleet and data quality, and ensure FAA compliance while aligning with geomatics strategy.

This remote-ready role travels 25–50% across the US and partners with project management, engineering, and client teams to deliver accurate geospatial products on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Geospatial Science, Aviation, GIS, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in UAS operations or geomatics with leadership experience.
• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification maintained in good standing.
• Experience leading UAS programs across surveying, engineering, construction, or renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and develop the UAS team including hiring, scheduling, and performance reviews.
• Oversee SOPs, field workflows, QA/QC, and data deliverables across multiple projects.
• Manage UAS fleet, sensors, procurement, maintenance, and lifecycle documentation.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, waivers, COAs, Remote ID, and safety programs.
• Coordinate with project teams, clients, and regulators; plan staffing and mobilization.
• Develop program budget and forecast resource needs; provide technical direction for missions.
