Job summary

Seventh Dimension LLC in Virginia Beach is seeking an UxS Mechanical Integration Engineer to design, integrate, test, and sustain mechanical solutions for unmanned platforms and related flight operations. You will work in an operational environment supporting rapid prototyping and mission-driven technology development for Special Operations capabilities.

The role requires a US citizen with an active Secret clearance (TS/SCI eligibility preferred), 3+ years of hands-on engineering, and experience

Qualifications

• US Citizen
• Valid U.S. driver’s license
• Active Secret Security Clearance with TS/SCI eligibility
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Self-motivation and critical thinking skills
• BS degree in Mechanical, Robotics, Aeronautical or related engineering field
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on engineering experience
• Experience with Group 1/2 unmanned systems or related platforms
• Knowledge of aviation principles and unmanned systems
• Experience with CAD (SolidWorks/AutoCAD/Rhino)
• Experience designing/enclosures and mounting hardware
• Experience with CNC machining
• Experience with additive manufacturing (FDM/SL/SLA)
• Experience with antenna integration and RF mitigation
• Ability to perform structural, vibration, thermal, and shock analyses
• Security credentials and safeguarding requirements
• Ability to support surge/mission-essential activities

Responsibilities

• Integrate systems onto unmanned platforms
• Develop solutions for launch and recovery systems
• Design and integrate flight-critical and C2/ISR systems
• Design concealment housings and mounting for PCBs and antennas
• Create engineering models and drawings using CAD tools
• Perform material selection and structural analyses
• Design structures to meet vibration, environmental, and load requirements
• Fabricate parts via 3D printing and CNC processes
• Install antenna systems optimized for signal performance and RF mitigation
• Address thermal management, vibration control, and environmental durability
• Support testing, fielding, demonstrations, and sustainment
