Job summary

Percepto is seeking a star UAS Field Service Technician to join the team. You will work in the field across Texas and the U.S., supporting deployment, installation, and ongoing maintenance of our drone systems from the Midland hub.

This is a hybrid electro-mechanical role requiring strong safety credentials, ability to travel daily, and collaboration with operations, engineering, and sales to ensure client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• FAA Part 107 preferred, or ability to pass within 30 days (company paid).
• 2+ years of technician experience or 1–2 years operating drones.
• Must reside within 50 miles of Midland, TX, and hold a valid U.S. driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Support deployment, installation, and ongoing maintenance at client sites.
• Troubleshoot, test, repair, and maintain aerial and ground systems.
• Plan and execute activities with internal/external teams to ensure success.
• Follow procedures, provide feedback for improvements, and maintain equipment.

We are looking for a star UAS Field Service Technician to join the team. The UAS Field Service Technician is a hybrid Electro-Mechanical Tech who wants to get in on the ground floor of oilfield robotics. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work as part of a team in a customer-facing, project management, and nationwide operations role.

Job Summary: In this position, you will be a part of our operations team, and you will be working independently with our customers in the State of Texas and throughout the U.S. You will play a critical role as our customers revolutionize the way they inspect and monitor vital infrastructure and assets. You will be mainly working in the field and work from the Operations Hub in Midland, TX when not at a customer site. You will cooperate with the operations, engineering, sales, and marketing teams for the ultimate goal of full product adaptation and paramount customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Support the deployment, installation, and conduct the ongoing maintenance of Percepto's systems at client sites.
• Troubleshoot, test, repair, and maintain aerial and ground systems.
• Independently plan and execute assigned activities, collaborating with internal and external teams to ensure successful completion.
• Follow company procedures and protocols and provide feedback for improvement.
• Ensure readiness and proper maintenance of all flight and testing equipment and tools
• Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with schedules and client expectations.
• Safely conduct operations, adhering to FAA, other local aviation regulations, OSHA regulations, and customer-specific safety protocols
• Maintain proper documentation of all work performed and timely provide status updates as required.
• Participate in in-field testing of Percepto’s next-era autonomous robotic systems
• Test product capabilities and identify areas for improvement

Requirements

• FAA Part 107 preferred, or the ability to pass the exam within the first 30 days of employment (paid for by the company)
• Valid U.S. Driver's License and clean driving record (MVR) to operate company-provided field vehicle
• Must reside within 50 miles of the Midland, TX operations hub
• Safety Credentials: Mention that PEC/SafeLand SAFESTART certification, H2S Clear, and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
• Daily drive-based travel to client sites & up to 25% flight-based travel
• At least 1-2 years of proven technical record operating drones, or 2+ years of industrial technician experience (E&I, wind/solar, aviation mechanics, or diesel/heavy equipment)
• At least 2 years of proven technician work experience (electrician, mechanic, assembly, repair )
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment
• Ability to work on some non-routine hours, and willingness to work overtime
• Ability to self-learn in a highly dynamic environment
• Successfully work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills – written, verbal, and presentation
• Willingness to work out in the field
• Self-motivated, self-starter, energetic, assertive
• Thermographer certification is a plus
• Spanish speaker - an advantage

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions( including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and humidity) and work environments where exposure to dust, dirt, and other outdoor elements is common
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, often ranging from 50 to 100 lbs, sometimes over uneven or rough terrain.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, or squatting to access and work on equipment located at ground level or in confined spaces.
• Physical endurance to perform strenuous tasks for extended periods, including working in awkward or uncomfortable positions; reaching and working on equipment inside enclosures, cabinets, or elevated areas.
• Repetitive use of hands and fingers to handle, control, and feel objects, tools, and controls. This could include using hand tools, operating equipment, or making precise adjustments.
