Job summary

Percepto in the United States is seeking a Drone Operator based near Midland, TX to deploy and operate our autonomous inspection systems at client sites. You will lead on-site installations, perform testing, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance during daily field work.

The role emphasizes strong communication with customers, readiness to travel across Texas, and the ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment while supporting 50-70% drive-based travel.

Qualifications

  • Must reside within 50 miles from the Midland, TX operations hub.
  • FAA Part 107 license is a plus.
  • Valid U.S. Driver License and willingness to travel 50–70% to client sites in Texas.
  • 1–2 years of proven technical record operating drones.
  • 2 years of proven technician work experience (electrician, mechanic, assembly, repair).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct deployments, installations, and operation of Percepto’s systems at clients sites.
  • Install, validate, troubleshoot, and repair aerial and ground systems.
  • Independently plan and execute assigned activities, collaborating with internal and external teams.
  • Follow company procedures and protocols and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Ensure readiness and proper maintenance of all flight and testing equipment and tools.
  • Ensure tasks are carried out in accordance with schedules and client expectations.
  • Safely conduct operations, adhering to FAA and OSHA regulations and customer safety protocols.
  • Maintain documentation of all work performed and provide status updates.
  • Participate in in-field testing of Percepto’s autonomous robotic systems.

We are looking for a star Drone Operator to join the team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work as part of a team in a customer-facing, project management, and nationwide operations role.

Job Summary:
  • Conduct deployments, installations, and operation of Percepto’s systems at clients sites

  • Safely conduct operations, adhering to FAA, other local aviation regulations, OSHA regulations, and customer-specific safety protocols
  • Maintain proper documentation of all work performed and timely provide status updates as required.
  • Participate in in-field testing of Percepto’s next-era autonomous robotic systems
  • Test product capabilities and identify areas for improvement
  • Licensed FAA Part 107 drone operator is a plus
  • Must reside within 50 miles from the Midland, TX operations hub
  • Valid U.S. Driver License
  • Willingness to travel (drive-based travel 50-70% to client sites in Texas)
  • At least 1-2 years of proven technical record operating drones
  • At least 2 years of proven technician work experience (electrician, mechanic, assembly, repair )
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment
  • Ability to work on some non-routine hours, and willingness to work overtime
  • Ability to self-learn in a highly dynamic environment
  • Successfully work both independently and as part of a team
  • Great customer-facing skills
  • Strong communication skills - written, verbal, and presentation
  • Willingness to work out in the field
  • Self-motivated, self-starter, energetic, assertive
  • Thermographer certification is a plus
  • Spanish speaker - an advantage
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions( including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and humidity) and work environments where exposure to dust, dirt, and other outdoor elements is common
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, often ranging from 50 to 100 lbs, sometimes over uneven or rough terrain.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, or squatting to access and work on equipment located at ground level or in confined spaces.
  • Physical endurance to perform strenuous tasks for extended periods, including working in awkward or uncomfortable positions; reaching and working on equipment inside enclosures, cabinets, or elevated areas.
  • Repetitive use of hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, and controls. This could include using hand tools, operating equipment, or making precise adjustments.
