Job summary

Percepto in Texas seeks a field technician to deploy, install, test, and maintain drone and ground-systems at client sites, primarily in the Midland area and across the state. You will work closely with customers to ensure successful product adoption and satisfaction, with weekly coordination with the operations hub.

The role requires willingness to travel to client sites, strong technical aptitude in electrical and mechanical systems, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

  • FAA Part 107 required or ability to pass within 30 days (paid by company).
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License with clean record.
  • Must reside within 50 miles of Midland, TX hub.
  • Experience operating drones or in industrial technician roles.
  • Strong customer-facing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support deployment, installation, and ongoing maintenance of Percepto systems at client sites.
  • Troubleshoot, test, repair, and maintain aerial and ground systems.
  • Plan and execute activities; collaborate with internal and external teams.
  • Follow procedures and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Maintain documentation and provide status updates.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA and other regulations.

Job Summary

In this position, you will be a part of our operations team, and you will be working independently with our customers in the State of Texas and throughout the U.S. You will play a critical role as our customers revolutionize the way they inspect and monitor vital infrastructure and assets. You will be mainly working in the field and work from the Operations Hub in Midland, TX when not at a customer site. You will cooperate with the operations, engineering, sales, and marketing teams for the ultimate goal of full product adaptation and paramount customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Support the deployment, installation, and conduct the ongoing maintenance of Percepto's systems at client sites.
  • Troubleshoot, test, repair, and maintain aerial and ground systems.
  • Independently plan and execute assigned activities, collaborating with internal and external teams to ensure successful completion.
  • Follow company procedures and protocols and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Ensure readiness and proper maintenance of all flight and testing equipment and tools
  • Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with schedules and client expectations.
  • Safely conduct operations, adhering to FAA, other local aviation regulations, OSHA regulations, and customer-specific safety protocols
  • Maintain proper documentation of all work performed and timely provide status updates as required.
  • Participate in in-field testing of Percepto’s next-era autonomous robotic systems
  • Test product capabilities and identify areas for improvement
Requirements
  • FAA Part 107 preferred, or the ability to pass the exam within the first 30 days of employment (paid for by the company)
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License and clean driving record (MVR) to operate company-provided field vehicle
  • Must reside within 50 miles of the Midland, TX operations hub
  • Safety Credentials: Mention that PEC/SafeLand SAFESTART certification, H2S Clear, and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • Daily drive-based travel to client sites & up to 25% flight-based travel
  • At least 1-2 years of proven technical record operating drones, or 2+ years of industrial technician experience (E&I, wind/solar, aviation mechanics, or diesel/heavy equipment)
  • At least 2 years of proven technician work experience (electrician, mechanic, assembly, repair )
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment
  • Ability to work on some non-routine hours, and willingness to work overtime
  • Ability to self-learn in a highly dynamic environment
  • Successfully work both independently and as part of a team
  • Great customer-facing skills
  • Strong communication skills – written, verbal, and presentation
  • Willingness to work out in the field
  • Self-motivated, self-starter, energetic, assertive
  • Thermographer certification is a plus
  • Spanish speaker - an advantage
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions( including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and humidity) and work environments where exposure to dust, dirt, and other outdoor elements is common
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, often ranging from 50 to 100 lbs, sometimes over uneven or rough terrain.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, or squatting to access and work on equipment located at ground level or in confined spaces.
  • Physical endurance to perform strenuous tasks for extended periods, including working in awkward or uncomfortable positions; reaching and working on equipment inside enclosures, cabinets, or elevated areas.
  • Repetitive use of hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, and controls. This could include using hand tools, operating equipment, or making precise adjustments.
