Job summary

Red Cat Holdings seeks a Field Service Repair Technician to diagnose, repair, test, and maintain UAVs, payloads, and related electronics. The role is primarily in-office with an active facility, plus about 40% travel to customer sites for diagnostics, training, and field support.

You will liaise with engineering and support teams to ensure mission readiness and reliability across the product portfolio. FAA Part 107 certification and 4+ years in electronics repair are required.

Qualifications

• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate is required.
• 4+ years of hands-on electronics repair, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and technical support.
• Experience performing component-level repairs, soldering, and electronic assembly rework.
• Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and avionics systems.
• Experience with UAV platforms, payloads, and ground systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and circuit testers.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Technical certification or degree in Electronics/Avionics/Mechatronics or related field preferred.
• Willingness to obtain HAZMAT certifications if required.
• DoD Secret Clearance desired, or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair UAV hardware, electronics, payloads, and supporting systems.
• Perform component-level troubleshooting, soldering, rework, calibrations, and system adjustments.
• Conduct functional testing, QA inspections, and acceptance testing of repaired systems.
• Perform routine maintenance, preventative inspections, and firmware/software updates.
• Utilize schematics and diagnostic equipment to identify issues and resolve them.
• Support rapid-turn repairs and time-sensitive customer requirements.
• Document repair activities and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Engineering, QA, Product Management, and Customer Support to improve product reliability.
• Capture recurring failure trends and communicate improvements.
• Maintain repair records and service documentation.
• Travel to customer locations for diagnostics, installations, and updates.
• Provide on-site technical training and operational guidance.
• Support demonstrations, acceptance testing, and readiness events.
