Job summary

Percepto is seeking a Drone Operator to join our field operations team in the United States. You will deploy and support autonomous drone systems at client sites, primarily in Texas, with travel up to 50-70% from the Midland hub.

This role emphasizes hands-on field work, safety compliance, and coordination with engineering, sales, and operations. You should have 1–2 years of drone operation experience, a strong service mindset, and the ability to work independently and with teams.

Qualifications

  • Licensed FAA Part 107 drone operator is a plus.
  • Must reside within 50 miles from Midland, TX hub.
  • Willingness to travel 50-70% to client sites in Texas.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of drone operation experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of technician work experience (electrician, mechanic, assembly, repair).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct deployments, installations, and operation of Percepto’s systems at clients sites.
  • Install, validate, troubleshoot, and repair aerial and ground systems.
  • Plan and execute activities, collaborating with teams to ensure completion.
  • Follow procedures and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Maintain flight and testing equipment and tools; ensure readiness.
  • Adhere to schedules and client expectations; travel as required.
  • Safely conduct operations under FAA and local regulations; follow safety protocols.
  • Document work performed and provide status updates.
  • Participate in field testing of autonomous robotic systems; test capabilities.

We are looking for a star Drone Operator to join the team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work as part of a team in a customer-facing, project management, and nationwide operations role.

Job Summary: In this position, you will take a part of our operations team, and you will be working independently with our customers in the State of Texas and throughout the U.S. You will play a critical role as our customers revolutionize the way they inspect and monitor vital infrastructure and assets. You will be mainly working in the field and work from the Operations Hub in Midland, TX when not at a customer site. You will cooperate with the operations, engineering, sales, and marketing teams for the ultimate goal of full product adaptation and paramount customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct deployments, installations, and operation of Percepto’s systems at clients sites
  • Install, validate, troubleshoot, and repair aerial and ground systems.
  • Independently plan and execute assigned activities, collaborating with internal and external teams to ensure successful completion.
  • Follow company procedures and protocols and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Ensure readiness and proper maintenance of all flight and testing equipment and tools
  • Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with schedules and client expectations.
  • Safely conduct operations, adhering to FAA, other local aviation regulations, OSHA regulations, and customer-specific safety protocols
  • Maintain proper documentation of all work performed and timely provide status updates as required.
  • Participate in in-field testing of Percepto’s next-era autonomous robotic systems
  • Test product capabilities and identify areas for improvement
Requirements
  • Licensed FAA Part 107 drone operator is a plus
  • Must reside within 50 miles from the Midland, TX operations hub
  • Valid U.S. Driver License
  • Willingness to travel (drive-based travel 50-70% to client sites in Texas)
  • At least 1-2 years of proven technical record operating drones
  • At least 2 years of proven technician work experience (electrician, mechanic, assembly, repair )
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment
  • Ability to work on some non-routine hours, and willingness to work overtime
  • Ability to self-learn in a highly dynamic environment
  • Successfully work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills – written, verbal, and presentation
  • Willingness to work out in the field
  • Self-motivated, self-starter, energetic, assertive
  • Thermographer certification is a plus
  • Spanish speaker - an advantage

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions( including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and humidity) and work environments where exposure to dust, dirt, and other outdoor elements is common
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, often ranging from 50 to 100 lbs, sometimes over uneven or rough terrain.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching or squatting to access and work on equipment located at ground level or in confined spaces.
  • Physical endurance to perform strenuous tasks for extended periods, including working in awkward or uncomfortable positions; reaching and working on equipment inside enclosures, cabinets, or elevated areas.
  • Repetitive use of hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, and controls. This could include using hand tools, operating equipment, or making precise adjustments.
