Job summary

Aims Community College is seeking a faculty member to teach UAS ground content, flight training, field applications, and related courses. The role includes developing course materials to meet industry standards and participating in governance initiatives.

The position requires teaching UAS content with FAA Part 107 credentials and significant flight hours, and entails professional development and collaboration with the department and college.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of science degree with relevant UAS teaching credentials or experience.
• Associate of Applied Science in UAS with FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
• 2,000 hours of full-time teaching experience in UAS content is required.
• Must hold or qualify for a post-secondary vocational credential in Aviation Technology.

Responsibilities

• Instruct UAS coursework and be available for day and/or evening classes.
• Develop or modify curriculum to meet evolving UAS technology and textbooks.
• Participate in student evaluations, advising, registration, recruiting and retention efforts.
• Ensure compliance with FAA policies and college procedures; engage in department and college activities.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and stay current in the field.
