Job summary

The UAM Field Technician 1 at Davey Resource Group, Inc. supports planning, locating and inspecting utility infrastructure in the Dayton, Ohio area.

This entry-level role works in the field under supervision and gradually applies technical skills while delivering accurate field data. You will travel frequently (75–100%), operate GPS and handheld devices, and collaborate with project managers and coordinators to meet client timelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficient in basic office apps and data entry; willingness to learn mapping software.
• Able to read, comprehend instructions, and communicate clearly.
• Able to perform basic arithmetic.
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean record; complete Davey Driver’s Safety Course.
• Willingness to travel; able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Prior electric utility or outdoor work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work independently as a lone worker when required.
• Collaborate with a technician pair to coordinate schedules and locations.
• Meet weekly production targets for client deadlines.
• Conduct field audits of utility infrastructure and record observations.
• Operate GPS units, handheld devices, cameras, and other field tech.
• Accurately record field data and ensure data integrity.
• Communicate with property owners to arrange access.
• Travel 75–100% for on-site duties.
• Follow safety regulations and company policies.
