Job summary

Davey Resource Group, Inc. is seeking a UAM Field Technician 1 for on-site utility asset management tasks. The role involves planning, inspecting, and recording information related to utility infrastructure, with extensive overnight travel and a company vehicle provided.

Starting pay ranges from $20 to $24 per hour, with benefits including health plans, 401k matching, and education scholarships. This is an entry-level position requiring a high school diploma and willingness to learn mapping

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency in basic office applications and data entry; willingness to learn mapping software.
• Able to read and comprehend instructions and communicate clearly.
• Perform basic arithmetic and follow detailed instructions with multiple variables.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operate as a lone worker when required, demonstrating independence and self-sufficiency.
• Collaborate with a second technician when needed to coordinate schedules, hours, and locations.
• Meet weekly production targets to satisfy client expectations and deadlines.
• Conduct field audits of utility infrastructure by visually inspecting and recording data.
• Use field technology (hand-held devices, GPS, cameras) to collect and document observations.
• Record observations accurately and communicate with property owners and agencies to arrange access.
• Drive and maintain a company vehicle across varied terrains and weather conditions.
• Navigate using maps, GPS, or other methods in diverse environments and weather.
• Identify safety hazards and ensure compliance with regulations and client standards.
• Review data in GIS databases and correct data integrity errors as needed.
• Adhere to safety regulations and complete required training.
• Perform light maintenance on infrastructure and equipment using basic tools.
• Measure heights on utility poles with fiberglass measuring sticks.
• Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, coordinators, technicians, and admins.
• Report issues promptly to supervisors and maintenance staff.
• Participate in training events; travel on-site as required (up to 100%).
• Perform additional duties as assigned and follow company policies.
