Job summary

Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Field Assistant Cook to join the U.S. Rebuild team in Burnsville, North Carolina. You will assist the Lead Cook with menu planning, orders, and meals for staff and volunteers, and help prepare breakfast and dinner each day.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least one year of food preparation experience, and a ServeSafe certificate. You will keep the kitchen clean and coordinate with volunteers to support daily meal service.

Qualifications

High school diploma and at least one year of experience in food preparation; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ServeSafe handler certificate (required).

Responsibilities

Assist Lead Cook in preparing the menu, orders, and purchases to serve staff and volunteers.
Help prepare breakfast and dinner each day at set times and provide items for bag lunches.
Assist with maintaining the kitchen and equipment in a clean manner.
Greet staff and visitors and utilize volunteers to assist as needed in the kitchen.

We are seeking a Field Assistant Cook to join our U.S. Rebuild team in Burnsville, North Carolina. Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

In the role of Field Assistant Cook, you will have the opportunity to:

Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
Assist the Lead Cook in preparing the menu, orders, and purchases to serve staff and volunteers
Help the Lead Cook in preparing breakfast and dinner each day at set times as requested, and provide items for the volunteers to prepare a bag lunch each morning before going out to work
Assist with maintaining the kitchen and equipment in a clean manner
Greet all staff and visitors, and utilize volunteers to assist as needed in the kitchen
Other duties as assigned
