Job summary

McWane in Oxford, AL is seeking a production technician to support casting operations. The role involves preparing molds and cores, operating or assisting machines, inspecting products, and helping maintain a safe, efficient workplace.

You will lift materials, tag parts, load/unload items, and record production data while following safety protocols and the McWane Way. Candidates should be reliable team players willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Prepare molds and cores for casting operations.
• Operate machinery used in the production process or assist machine operators.
• Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Observe equipment operations so that malfunctions can be detected and notify operators of any malfunctions.
• Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items manually or using hoists.
• Count finished products to determine if product orders are complete.
• Mark or tag identification on parts.
• Load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances.
• Help production workers perform duties of lesser skill, such as supplying or holding materials or tools or cleaning work areas and equipment.
• Use appropriate tools to finish castings based on quality specifications.
• Clean and lubricate equipment.
• Record information, such as the number of products tested, meter readings, or dates and times of product production.

General Duties and Responsibilities

• Promote and uphold The McWane Way principles, values, and behaviors.
• Adhere to safety protocols outline in the Tyler Union Safety Management Program.
• Assist supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Follow ergonomic and safe lifting techniques.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report any issues.
