Job summary

Tyler Union in Anniston, AL is seeking a Maintenance Planner to develop work plans for corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance tasks and to create and schedule maintenance work orders in CMMS.

The ideal candidate has a engineering/maintenance background with 3+ years of planning/scheduling experience, CMMS familiarity (SAP, Maximo), strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks in a heavy manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance planning/scheduling in heavy manufacturing.
• Ability to interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and schematics.
• Familiarity with maintenance KPIs and metrics.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and coordination meetings.
• Ensure compliance with safety and maintenance standards.
• Update maintenance documentation and procedures.
• Provide support during shutdowns or critical events.

General Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Follow ergonomic and safe lifting techniques.

• Perform daily equipment inspections and report any issues.

• Create and schedule maintenance work orders in CMMS.

Education and/or Experience

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, maintenance technology, or industrial operations or equivalent experience.
• At least three (3) years of maintenance planning / scheduling experience (heavy manufacturing preferred).
• Experience with CMMS (SAP, Maximo, etc.).
• Good analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret mechanical / electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of reliability practices, predictive maintenance.
• Familiarity with maintenance KPIs and metrics.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Related certification (e.g. CMRT, CMRP, PMP) preferred.

Physical & Cognitive Abilities

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.

• Primarily on-site in a foundry environment with exposure to heat, noise, and industrial equipment.

• Physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body include climbing, lifting to 50 pounds, balancing, walking, standing, stooping, and handling tools and materials.

• The work environment varies from a typical office setting to a plant environment that may be hot, cold, dusty, and noisy. It is a requirement to be in and out of the plant on a regular basis.
