Job summary

POWER Youth is seeking a Social Media Intern to support campaigns and messaging across agency platforms. The role focuses on creating engaging captions, taking photos, and developing content for social channels in alignment with the organization’s mission.

You will work under supervision in an in-person setting, with responsibilities including photo/video content creation, daily social engagement, and copywriting. This internship offers hands-on learning in digital communications.

• Assist with Social Media Content, Campaigns and Messaging for Metro Action Commission social platforms.

Responsibilities

• Writes social media captions that speak to the target audience.
• Take photos and assist with photo/video content.
• Monitor social media content and engagement daily to respond timely to followers.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Proficient in social media tools; training provided for organization-level platforms.
• Experience with graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe, etc.
• Attention to detail and copywriting skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Job Duties:

Monday – Friday 9:00am – 3:30pm

If you are selected for YEP Internship as a Work Team Member, you will make $18.00 an hour.

The POWER Youth program, previously known as Opportunity NOW, provides career exploration and work experience activities for youth 14 to 24 years old. The name POWER Youth was selected by the peer youth leadership team based on how they view themselves and their future.
