Position Summary:

The Production Manager is responsible for managing the manufacturing operations in a way which will drive performance and ensure manufacturing operations are running efficiently and effectively. This position is accountable for the overall performance of production operations and for ensuring customer demands are met while producing products at the lowest cost and maintaining high quality standards. Knowledge of safety and quality policies and practices and an overall knowledge of federal and state laws which affect human resources, safety, quality, and the manufacturing process.

Scope of Responsibilities:

Organize and prioritize manufacturing and production activities (workflow, materials, machines, and manpower) in a manner that prevents delays and meet customer demands with a focus on turn times, quality, and continuous improvement. Collaborates with the Production and/or CSR Manager to develop daily production plan by reviewing customer demands, estimating manpower requirements, and factoring current inventory levels. Reviews workload to identify gaps in inefficiencies and/or processes and to maximize throughput.

Duties:

To ensure the plant runs efficiently & profitably while servicing our customer’s needs. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • 1. Ensures all machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained.
  • 2. Holds production and team meetings.
  • 3. Responsible for the daily Production schedule. Includes adding new jobs, removing shipped orders, and scheduling run order by press.
  • 4. Participates in determining the root cause of internal and external complaints. Determines and carries out the appropriate corrective action.
  • 5. Perform other responsibilities and tasks as assigned, to include:
  • Management of all Manufacturing processes, Quality Inspection Processes, Prepress Processes, Job Preparation Processes, and Management of all tooling
  • 6. Oversee the daily functions of all production personnel ensuring all resources are being allocated effective and efficiently.
  • 7. Ensures the proper flow of information to all production staff so all individuals are informed.
  • 8. Ensures employees are always adhering to proper company and safety standards.
  • 9. Implement and monitor Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • 10. Manages, plans, and monitors the inventory movements throughout the production cycle.
  • 11. Act as a coach, mentor, and leader to the members of the assigned team to achieve team, department, and company goals and objectives.
  • 12. Ensures quality and customer specifications of products are being met
  • 13. Track, review and approve payroll for all production personnel. Manage overtime. Review and approve vacation requests.
  • 14. Assess training needs and ensure employees receive the proper orientation and training. Oversee the training of all production personnel and other affected personnel as it relates to production policies and procedures.
  • 15. Reviews and Disciplinary Actions for all production personnel.
  • 16. Ensures all employees work according to the company’s standards. Implements, and ensures compliance with all company-controlled documents as it relates to production (SOPs, Guidelines, Process Descriptions, Forms and Checklists).
  • 17. Assures adequate tools, fixtures, programs, procedures, and processes are being created and implemented throughout the organization involving production.
  • 18. Initiates purchase order for supplies and resources needed for production.
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a Production Management Position
  • 4-7 years’ experience in Flexographic Printing Industry
