The Plymouth Village Water & Sewer District is seeking two (2) Water & Wastewater Operators/Utility Support Technicians to join our small, award-winning team serving the community of Plymouth, New Hampshire.
Located in the heart of the Pemigewasset Valley, bridging the Lakes Region and the White Mountains, Plymouth offers an exceptional setting for those who enjoy the outdoors.
This is a hands-on, career-oriented position involving water and wastewater system operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment, heavy machinery, technology, and infrastructure.
No two days are exactly alike. The position combines field work, equipment operation and maintenance, troubleshooting, technology, data collection, and infrastructure work.
The successful candidate must be dependable, safety-conscious, mechanically inclined, comfortable using hand and power tools, detail-oriented, and an effective communicator, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a small team. The position requires someone who enjoys working outdoors in all seasons, takes pride in doing quality work, is willing to learn, and wants to build a career in the water/wastewater profession. Strong communication skills and an interest in community outreach are important, as employees regularly interact with customers, contractors, vendors, and the public.
Technology is an important part of daily operations, including GIS, SCADA, tablets, smartphones, and other software and electronic tools.
Starting wage: $24–$28/hour, based on experience and qualifications, with opportunities for advancement as skills, certifications, and responsibilities increase.

Water/wastewater experience is preferred, but we will consider candidates with related experience in construction, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, mechanical maintenance, public works, heavy equipment, or other skilled trades.
Candidates must obtain NH Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator Grade I OIT certification within 6 months of hire and full certification within 1 year of hire, as well as NH Water Works Treatment & Distribution Grade I certification within 1 year. Existing certifications are preferred.
