Job summary

Carilion New River Valley Medical Center in Christiansburg, VA, is seeking a Two Skills Tech – CT/XRay for day/evening shifts. You will operate CT and X-ray equipment, obtain high-quality images, and ensure patient safety during exams.

Base pay ranges from $30.47–$45.71 per hour, with up to $30k new-hire sign-on and up to $7k relocation assistance. Monday–Friday hours with on-call responsibilities, and opportunities to train students and staff within Carilion Imaging.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED; graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology or related imaging technology; or training in angiography, diagnostic radiology, CT, MRI, mammography, nuclear medicine, or ultrasound.
• CT experience strongly preferred; CT experience not mandatory.
• ARRT registry or eligibility; must become CT registered within 2 years of hire if not already registered.
• AHA BLS-HCP required; may need BLS, ACLS, PALS, or NRP depending on unit.
• Good computer and communication skills; interpersonal and technical flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Operate specialized radiology equipment to obtain quality images for diagnostic or treatment purposes.
• Perform CT and X-ray examinations, including injection skills and IV contrast injections as required.
• Schedule and register patients, maintain patient files, and prepare, position, and observe patients with professionalism and safety.
• Comply with Carilion Clinic and Imaging policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
• Train students and staff as assigned.
• Interact with patients, families, visitors, and the healthcare team to coordinate and manage patient care plans.
• Provide care at other Carilion facilities as needed.

Hours

Mainly Monday–Friday 11am–7pm, rotating holidays, weekends, and on‑call responsibilities.

Compensation

Base salary range: $30.47–$45.71 per hour, based on qualifications, credentials, education, and prior experience. Compensation range excludes benefits and pension plan.
