Job summary

Mohawk Industries is seeking a Twister Operator in Dalton, Georgia to set up, operate, and tend yarn-twisting machines and load yarn into the twister. You will help ensure safe and efficient production on the shop floor.

The role requires teamwork, basic math, and the ability to read specifications, with a strong emphasis on safety training, quality checks using black lights, and adherence to standard operating procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of all required on the job training.
• Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training.
• Previous Yarn or Manufacturing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Creel single or double ply yarn packages and load yarn into twister.
• Reposition buggies of yarn at the twisters and stage tubes for winder operation.
• Thread ends of single yarns, operate the spindle, and repair breakouts during production runs.
• Doff twisted yarn packages and transfer them from the conveyor to a buggy/container.
• Monitor production output and machine equipment for safe and efficient operation.
• Clean and dechoke spindles to maintain machine efficiency and meet production requirements.
• Perform quality checks using black lights to check yarn.
• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision.
• Follow all established standard operating and safety procedures as well as company policies.
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Perform other tasks assigned by management.
