Job summary

Mohawk Industries, a leading global flooring manufacturer, is seeking to fill a production operator role focused on yarn twisting and machine operation. The position involves setting up and tending multiple machines, loading yarn, and ensuring safe, efficient production in an industrial environment.

The role requires attention to detail, basic math, and the ability to work in a team, with training provided on health, safety, and operating procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of all required on-the-job training.
• Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training.
• Previous Yarn or Manufacturing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and tend to machines that twist yarn together.
• Creel single or double ply yarn packages and load yarn into twister.
• Reposition buggies of yarn at the twisters and stage tubes for winder operation.
• Thread ends of single yarns, operate the spindle and repair breakouts.
• Doff twisted yarn packages and transfer them from the conveyor to a buggy/container.
• Monitor production output and machine equipment for safe and efficient operation.
• Clean and dechoke spindles to maintain machine efficiency and meet production requirements.
• Perform quality checks using black lights to check yarn.
• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision.
• Follow all established standard operating and safety procedures as well as company policies.
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Perform other tasks assigned by management.
