Job summary

Mohawk Industries is seeking a manufacturing yarn operator to set up, operate, and tend to machines in a busy production environment. You will handle creel loading, threading, and monitoring equipment to ensure safe, efficient output while following SOPs and safety guidelines.

The role requires basic math, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a team. Training and compliance with health/safety standards are essential, along with general housekeeping and ongoing skill development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of all required on the job training.
• Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training.

Responsibilities

• Creel single or double ply yarn packages and load yarn into twister.
• Reposition buggies of yarn at the twisters and stage tubes for winder operation.
• Thread ends of single yarns, operate the spindle, and repair breakouts during production runs.
• Doff twisted yarn packages and transfer them from the conveyor to a buggy/container.
• Monitor production output and machine equipment for safe and efficient operation.
• Clean and dechoke spindles to maintain machine efficiency and meet production requirements.
• Perform quality checks using black lights to check yarn.
• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision.
• Follow all established standard operating and safety procedures as well as company policies.
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Perform other tasks assigned by management.
