Job summary

Jefferson Community & Technical College’s Learning Commons seeks a Tutoring Coordinator to oversee part-time tutoring staff and plan daily operations for tutoring services. Reports to the Tutoring Administrator to develop and grow the tutoring program.

The role involves coordinating staff, training, scheduling, and supporting program assessment with potential evening/weekend hours and travel for events across Jefferson campuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and one year of related experience, or equivalent.
• Experience with tutoring, academic support, teaching, and/or community college environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and instructions for up to 30 part-time tutors and staff.
• Assist with recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training of part-time tutoring staff.
• Serve as primary contact for tutoring operations and resolve scheduling issues.
• Manage tutoring welcome desk and email account.
• Schedule, modify, and troubleshoot tutoring appointments and ensure proper tutor-course matching.
• Build and maintain tutoring schedules for staffing coverage.
• Coordinate tutor training and professional development with the Administrator.
• Support CRLA Tutor Training Program certification and program assessment.
• Coordinate marketing and outreach for tutoring services.
• Liaise with faculty, advising, student services, and campus staff for referrals and scheduling.
• Participate in meetings and professional development as assigned.
• May require evening/weekend hours and travel for events.
