Purpose of the Position

The Title I Tutor’s primary responsibility is to work individually or with groups of students within the grant guidelines. The Title I Tutor shall utilize the most effective practices in the teaching of curricular objectives to meet the student needs and requirements of the specific grant.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all actions are in concert with the Board policies and the district mission statement.
  • Carry out additional duties as required.
  • Participate in job training and professional growth opportunities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure an efficient and effective work environment.
  • Implement activities for individuals and small groups of students in academic areas.
  • Tutor individuals or groups using hands‑on, activity‑based learning and other strategies based on differing student learning styles.
  • Communicate regularly with building staff regarding plans and observations.
  • Help monitor student achievement and instructional needs in reading, writing, and math using school data.
  • Participate in in‑service opportunities to keep current in best practices.
Qualifications
  • Illinois Teacher Certification.

Compensation Range
  • Crossing Guard: $30.00 / Day
  • Bfast/Lunch Aide: $15.00 / Hour
  • Certified Hourly: $40.00 / Hour
  • Non‑Certified Hourly: $25.00 / Hour

Benefits: This is not a benefits‑eligible position.

Working Conditions

Moderate in‑district travel and intermittent in‑state and out‑of‑state travel. Intermittent prolonged and irregular hours of work.
