Job summary

Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District seeks a Tutorial Facilitator at Edinburg North High School to supervise and implement the district's High School Tutorial Assistance Program for grades 9–12. You will work under the Principal and Dean of Instruction to ensure programs meet student needs.

This exempt, 187-day position requires TEA certification for secondary teaching, at least 3 years of teaching experience, and the ability to coordinate tutors and schedules, including

Qualifications

  • Ability to collaborate with administrators, students, and teachers.
  • Minimum 3 years of successful teaching experience.

Responsibilities

  • Report to work 5 days early at the start of the year and 5 days after the end of the year.
  • Plan and schedule tutorial assignments with teachers and program coordinator.
  • Supervise tutorial sessions after school and Saturdays as part of ESSER funded tutorials.
  • Assign college tutors funded by Federal Programs Department funds.
  • Schedule in-service and training activities for teachers and college tutors.
  • Document and report the names of students served by the tutorial program.
  • Prepare timesheets for teachers and tutors and submit payroll approvals.
  • Assist teachers and tutors in identifying specific student needs.
  • Screen and select tutors with Dean of Instruction on assigning college tutors to at-risk students.
  • Document and maintain data and submit monthly to the Dean of Instruction.
  • Evaluate tutor performance and make changes based on results.
  • Coordinate STAAR and end-of-course testing with Dean of Instruction and Testing Facilitator.
  • Be willing to work a flexible schedule including Saturdays and after-school hours.
  • Perform duties safely and within guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt

SALARY RANGE: $57,300 Minimum $80,668 Maximum PAY GRADE: TCH (+ 10 extra days)

PRIMARY PURPOSE

The role of the Tutorial Facilitator is to be responsible for the supervision and implementationofthe district's High School Tutorial Assistance Program. The Facilitator will be responsible to theprincipal and Dean of Instruction to ensure that tutorial programs are designed to meet the needsof students in grades 9 to 12.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • TEA certification requirements for secondary teacher in one of the following: ELA, Math, Science,Social Studies or Principal/Mid-Management certification
  • Be able to work with administrators, students, and teachers
  • At least 3 years of successful teachingexperience required
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Report to work 5 days early at the beginning of the year and work 5 days additional at the endof the school year.

  • Evaluate the performance of tutors and makes necessary changes based on results.
  • Work with the Testing Facilitator and Dean of Instruction to coordinate and implement the STAAR,end- of-course, and benchmark testing.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes Saturdays and after schoolhours.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
