Job summary

PowerSchool seeks a Tutor to support instructional programs in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools system. The position is part-time, flat rate hourly, for 9 months, with work located on district premises.

The tutor will implement supplemental instructional activities, guide students toward academic goals, and assist with lesson delivery under supervision. Travel to district sites may be required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license or ability to provide own transportation.
  • Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Deliver educational lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress to address individual needs.
  • Provide supervision of students for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.

General Definition of Work

The Tutor, under general supervision, performs instructional work with minimal decision-making discretion related to implementing a supplemental instructional program in an elementary or secondary learning environment that guides, and encourages students to support and fulfill their academic goals. Employee performs school-based work to carry out Board of Education policies under the direction of the principal.

The normal place of work is on the premises used by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools reserves the right to require you to work at such other place(s) as it may reasonably require from time to time.
