New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM invites applications for Lead Peer Mentor positions within the Academic Enrichment and Retention office. You will oversee a team of Peer Mentors and support NMHU students with transition, study groups, and campus resources.
This on-campus, part-time role pays $11.50 per hour and runs Fall 2021 through Spring 2022. Applicants must be NMHU students in good academic standing, with at least 6 credit hours and a 3.0 GPA, and prior peer-mentoring

The Academic Enrichment and Retention office is responsible for monitoring student retention and overseeing student success efforts at NMHU as well as overseeing the First-Year Experience and Second-Year Experience.

Job description may include technical and specialized duties requiring a high skill level in oral and written communications, critical thinking, initiative, and independent work requiring knowledge of theory, practices and procedures of the assigned area. Analyzing data; Preparing records; Writing reports; Creating videos; Managing confidential information; Maintain regular attendance; and Perform other job duties as assigned.
Lead Peer Mentors, in addition to regular Peer Mentor duties, are responsible for overseeing a team of Peer Mentors.
Lead Peer Mentor additional duties:
Education: College student at NMHU and classified as a sophmore, junior, or senior and enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours. Successfully completed one semester at NMHU . Minimum 3.0 GPA . Experience: Work experience in college.
Frequently: Standing, Walking, Bending, Squatting, Kneeling, Repetitive hand motion, Prolonged use of computer. Occasionally: Lifting a minimum of thirty (30) pounds, Climbing.
Hourly Rate $11.50/ Hour
