Job summary

Methode Electronics Inc. is seeking a skilled CNC operator in Rolling Meadows, IL to set up, program, and run turret punch press operations on sheet metal components.

You will perform first time set-ups for new parts, adjust tooling and dies, inspect outputs with calipers and gauges, and perform routine maintenance while maintaining a clean, safe work area in accordance with company procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC machines.
• Ability to read blueprints or drawings.
• Proficient in basic math and measurement tools.
• English language skills (reading/writing/speaking).

Responsibilities

• Set up/changeover on CNC turret punch press to produce specified parts.
• Perform first-time set-ups for new products via programming and profiling.
• Operate machines to meet production targets and QA standards.
• Make minor adjustments to improve output.
• Load/unload sheet metal stock, deburr and stage parts.
• Inspect outputs with calipers, micrometers, gauges.
• Perform daily/weekly/monthly maintenance per manuals.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and follow safety rules.

Position Summary:Performs set-up, operation, and minor maintenance of CNC turret punch press equipment in assigned work area to fabricate sheet metal components from flat stock.Position Responsibilities:Perform machine set-up/changeover on CNC turret punch press equipment to produce the required product or components by making mechanical adjustments (tooling, dies) to meet product specificationsPerform first time set-up of equipment for new products through programming, profiling, and mechanical/software adjustmentsOperate equipment to achieve production requirements and quality goals. Make minor adjustments to correct machine output as neededPerform manual production operations as required, e.g., load and unload sheet metal stock, stage and deburr finished partsUse of calipers, micrometers, gauges to inspect machine output to verify proper part configuration and workmanship standards are being metPerform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities in accordance with machine operation manual or maintenance work instructionMaintain neat and orderly work areas and comply with all safety rulesForklift experience desired or ability to get/maintain forklift certificationOther duties as assignedQualifications:High school diploma or GED required3+ years of experience setting up and operating machinesMust have ability to read and interpret blueprints or drawingsAbility to read, write, and speak EnglishThe base pay hiring rate expected for this position is: $20.31 - $29.45 USD hourly.Work Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
