Job summary

Methode Electronics, Inc. in Rolling Meadows, IL is seeking a CNC turret punch press operator to set up, program, and operate the turret press to fabricate sheet metal components from flat stock, ensuring first-pass quality.

The role requires 3+ years of machine setup experience, blueprint reading, and strong attention to safety. You will perform routine maintenance, inspect parts with precision tools, and support continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 3+ years of experience setting up and operating machines.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints or drawings.

Responsibilities

• Set up/changeover on CNC turret punch press to meet specs.
• Perform first-time setup for new products via programming and profiling.
• Operate equipment to meet production and quality goals with minor adjustments.
• Load/unload sheet metal stock and deburr parts as needed.
• Inspect output using calipers, micrometers, and gauges for accuracy.

Job description

Position Summary:

Performs set-up, operation, and minor maintenance of CNC turret punch press equipment in assigned work area to fabricate sheet metal components from flat stock.

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform machine set-up/changeover on CNC turret punch press equipment to produce the required product or components by making mechanical adjustments (tooling, dies) to meet product specifications
• Perform first time set-up of equipment for new products through programming, profiling, and mechanical/software adjustments
• Operate equipment to achieve production requirements and quality goals. Make minor adjustments to correct machine output as needed
• Perform manual production operations as required, e.g., load and unload sheet metal stock, stage and deburr finished parts
• Use of calipers, micrometers, gauges to inspect machine output to verify proper part configuration and workmanship standards are being met
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities in accordance with machine operation manual or maintenance work instruction
• Maintain neat and orderly work areas and comply with all safety rules
• Forklift experience desired or ability to get/maintain forklift certification
• Other duties as assigned

The base pay hiring rate expected for this position is: $20.31 - $29.45 USD hourly.
