Job summary

Methode Electronics Inc. is seeking an experienced CNC machinist to set up and operate CNC and manual machines, perform first time setups for new products, and inspect parts to ensure tight tolerances. Applicants must read blueprints and GD&T, use precision measuring tools, and be available for second shift hours.

The role requires strong quality awareness, adherence to 5S, and ability to work overtime as needed in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC and/or manual machining equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or drawings, including GD&T.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

  • Perform machine set-up/changeover on CNC and/or manual mills, lathes, and drill presses to produce required components.
  • Perform first time set-up for new products through programming, tool setting, and offset adjustments.
  • Load and unload parts, deburr and clean as needed.
  • Visually and dimensionally inspect machined parts to verify workmanship.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance per manuals and work instructions.
  • Maintain neat, safe work areas and follow 5S standards.

Job description

Performs set-ups, operations, and minor maintenance of one or more CNC machining centers. Has attained full proficiency in machining operations. Able to make adjustments and measure parts effectively within .001”Position Responsibilities:Perform machine set-up/changeover on CNC and/or manual mills, lathes, and drill presses to produce the required product or components by making offset adjustments to meet product specificationsPerform first time set-up of equipment for new products through programming, tool setting, and offset adjustments. Must have good Quality awareness to identify discrepancies while machining.Perform manual production operations as required, e.g., load and unload parts, deburr and clean if necessary.Visually and dimensionally inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments to verify proper workmanship standards are being met.Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities in accordance with machine operation manual or machine maintenance work instructions.Maintain neat and orderly work areas and comply with all safety rules. Follow 5S company standards.Qualifications:Due to U.S. export control laws and regulations (ITAR), applicants must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, or otherwise qualify as a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.62).
