The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa in Houston seeks an attentive Room Attendant to perform nightly turndown and maintain pristine guest rooms. You will refresh bathrooms, restock minibar items, and prepare rooms for arrivals with discretion and professionalism.

You will also report maintenance issues, assist in housekeeping operations, and support a collaborative team across the hotel. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform nightly turndown in designated guest rooms.
• Refresh bathrooms, replace towels, and restock minibar items.
• Remove service trays and garbage; tidy and prepare rooms for occupancy.
• Close drapes, adjust lighting, and prepare beds per standards.
• Submit maintenance issues to Engineering via work systems and inform housekeeping management.
• Add special touches to enhance guest experience (eye glass cloths, chocolates, weather cards, etc.).
• Vacuum, sweep, or mop in guest rooms and public areas as needed.
• Collaborate professionally with coworkers and supervisors.

JOB SUMMARYPerform turndown services in designated guest rooms in the evening. This role is critical to maintaining the luxury standard and reputation of The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa while upholding the highest levels of discretion and professionalism.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSMust have ability to perform daily work at a high level of accuracy and efficiency.Refresh the bathroom by removing used towels and replacing them with clean ones from the linen closet as well as wiping dry any wet surfaces.Folds any clothing left in room and places it in appropriate spot.Removes Room Service trays and dishes and carts to service landings.Replaces used cups, saucers, spoons and glasses from the Minibar with clean china, glasses and cutlery from the housekeeping closets.Removes garbage from bins in bedroom and bathroom.Closes drapes (based on applicable standard), reduces lighting, turns tv on and prepares bed.Submits all maintenance issues in guestrooms, Public Areas and Back of House to the Engineering department through designated work systems and brings them to the attention of the housekeeping management.Add special touches to the guestrooms to enhance the guest experience. For example eye glass cloths, cord wraps, chocolates, weather cards, etc.Restocks used amenities such as shampoo, lotions, cotton balls, stationery, pens and coffee, tea and sugar sachets.Prepares unoccupied rooms for turndown for arriving guests.Performs full Room Attendant duties in occupied rooms and late check-out rooms when needed.Vacuum, sweep, or mop in guest rooms or public areas as needed.Works harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.Additional duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or hotel support experience preferred but not requiredStrong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a teamBasic English language skills for communication (additional languages a plus)Ability to work flexible shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidaysHours required: Scheduled days and hours vary based on departmental needs.LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONSN/APHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTSMust be able to meet the following minimum physical requirements for at least an eight-hour shift:Physical Stamina: Frequent standing, walking, climbing ladders and stairs, kneeling, reaching overhead, lifting and carrying various objects weighing up to 50 lbs. year. Frequently manipulate carts that weigh 200 lbs. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to perform all activities in a professional manner. Must be able to see and read printed matter with or without vision aids.Hearing / Speech: Must be able to effectively engage in one-on-one communication with guests, members, and customers and use a 2-way radio to communicate clearly and accurately with co-workers.Vision: Must be able to accurately read instructions, reports, and log sheets. Must be able to work with computers and PDAs in varying light conditions.Literacy: Must be able to produce, read and understand reports, including security, incident and police reports. Must be able to analyze and process written information from a variety of sources and effectively communicate content of reports.Chemicals/Agents: Must be able to work safely with chemicals according to SDS sheets and all applicable laws, codes and regulatory requirements.
