The Townsend Hotel in Birmingham, MI is seeking a Regular Part Time Housekeeper to join our guest services team. The role pays $18.00 per hour and involves turn-down service, room tidiness, and attentive guest interactions.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Turn down bed coverings and prepare guest rooms.
• Place chocolates, bottled water, and ice in proper locations.
• Close draperies and adjust lighting.
• Turn on radio and dim lights to create ambience.
• Lay out bath robes and slippers and perform light housekeeping.
• Complete the 20-item Turn Down Checklist for up to 50 rooms per day.
• Maintain five-diamond and five-star standards per industry guidelines.
• Address guest requests and escalate to management when needed.
• Return items left behind by guests to management.
• Identify problems that affect service and cleanliness.
• Keep turn-down carts and supplies organized and ready.
• Assist with guest room cleaning or laundry as required.
• Assist with public area cleaning.

Description

JOB RESPONSBILITIES:

Turning down the bed covering

Placing chocolates, bottled water, and ice in appropriate locations of room

Closing the draperies

Turning on the radio and dimming the lights

Laying out bath robe and slippers

Performing light housekeeping duties as needed.

Complete 20-item Turn Down Checklist for each room, up to (50) rooms per day.

Understand and maintain the standards of a five-diamond and five-star hotel as determined by industry rating organizations (AAA and Forbes).

Professionally handle guest requests and complaints by completing requests or referring them to a Manager or Director.

Promptly deliver items left behind by departed guest (lost & found) to a Manager or Director.

Identify problems that can inhibit standards of excellence in service and cleanliness.

Maintain a clean turn down cart, ice containers and other supplies.

Assist with guest room cleaning or laundry, as per guest or managers request.

Assist with public area cleaning.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to pull a forty pound cart through carpeted hallways.

Position requires the ability to use service elevators to move throughout the property.

Position requires repetitive, walking, bending, lifting, reaching, stretching, and full mobility for the entire shift.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

This role is indoors and provides protection from weather conditions.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

Requires familiarity with applicable franchise standards and procedures.

Requires ability to communicate professionally with co-workers and guests.

Must be organized and able to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Must have the ability to provide service to guests and to complete reporting requirements.
