Job summary

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in finance or accounting with 3–5 years in restructuring or financial advisory.
  • Familiarity with bankruptcy/turnaround processes is a plus.
  • Strong project management and leadership of junior staff.
  • Ability to translate qualitative/quantitative insights into recommendations.
  • Excellent modeling, cash flow analysis and client communication.

Turnaround & Restructuring Director (Paramus, NJ)
Company Description:

This firm is a leading independent financial advisory firm that specializes in providing restructuring, transaction advisory, litigation support, forensic, and valuation services to lenders, companies and investors. This firms senior professionals average over 20 years of restructuring experience working within a variety of industries including consumer products, distribution, healthcare, hospitality, infrastructure, manufacturing, oil & gas, power generation, real estate, renewable energy, among others.

Job Description:

The firm is looking for a Director to join its growing restructuring practice. This individual will collaborate closely with firm's Executive Directors to manage various insolvency and corporate restructuring engagements. Additionally, the role of the Director will be to work directly with professionals from other firms, and other stakeholders to achieve engagement objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Project management.
  • Analyze companies, industries, historical financial statements and prospective financial information.
  • Utilize business, finance, accounting, and analytical skills to perform tasks including, but not limited to the following: financial modeling and analysis, cash flow forecasting and management, contingency planning, transaction support, valuation analysis and business plan review.
  • Assess the company's long-term viability and business strategy, provide recommendations, and assist in the implementation of financial restructuring plan.
  • Prepare presentations and other materials.
  • Business development and marketing our seven key services to our referral sources.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess a strong work ethic, willingness to travel, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Additional qualifications include:

  • 8 plus years of overall professional experience in finance or accounting, ideally with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of restructuring or financial advisory experience. Familiarity with the bankruptcy/turnaround process is a plus.
  • Client Service Experience. Preferable that candidate understands the consulting process and has previous work experience in a client service environment. Familiarity with the bankruptcy/turnaround process is also a plus.
  • Strong project management skills with experience managing or leading junior staff.
  • Ability to interpret the results of qualitative and quantitative analysis and develop insights and recommendations
  • Strong expertise in financial modeling and analysis (particularly in Excel), including constructing and understanding 3-statement financial models, cash flows and scenario analyses.
  • Strong analytical skills. Experience and ability to efficiently perform data analysis that results in useful insights.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills. Individual must demonstrate an executive presence and the ability to structure logical, concise arguments in verbal and written presentations.
  • Proficiency in working with Microsoft Office products (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Any of the following would be considered a PLUS:
    • Experience with statistical modeling, Black Scholes Option analysis, spread- option modeling or advanced quantitative models/programs
    • Professional experience analyzing or trading swaps, options, structured financial products
    • Analytical or trading experience in liquid commodity markets
