Job summary

Selby Jennings seeks highly motivated Turnaround and Restructuring (T&R) Analysts and Associates to join its elite boutique advisory team in New York City. You will lead and support engagements on distressed companies, operational turnarounds, and financial restructurings, working closely with senior leadership and clients to stabilize businesses and maximize stakeholder value.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in turnaround and restructuring advisory, investment banking, financial restructuring, private equity, private credit, distressed investing, or related fields.
• Prior experience working with distressed companies or in a dedicated T&R practice (investment banking, consulting, or advisory).
• Strong understanding of financial modeling, valuation, and liquidity analysis.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to interact with C-suite executives and stakeholders.
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CFA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support client engagements focused on financial restructuring, operational turnaround, and performance improvement.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis, liquidity assessments, and business plan reviews for distressed companies.
• Develop and implement strategic restructuring plans, including cost optimization, cash flow management, and capital structure solutions.
• Prepare and deliver client presentations, reports, and recommendations to senior executives and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with legal advisors, lenders, and other stakeholders throughout restructuring processes.
• Stay current on market trends, bankruptcy proceedings, and distressed investment opportunities.
