Job summary

Nutrien, a leading crop inputs provider, is seeking a Turnaround Event Manager for a 3-year temporary assignment at our site in Texas. You will lead safety-focused turnaround planning, execution and closeout, coordinating maintenance, reliability, engineering and contractor teams to deliver safe, on-time asset readiness.

We require 10–15+ years in turnarounds and strong capital project integration, with proven leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or trades certification required.
• 10-15+ years of supervisory experience in turnarounds, projects, and maintenance management or field construction management.
• Proven leadership as Turnaround Manager on high complexity turnarounds is an asset.
• Strong understanding of capital projects and MRM phased approaches to turnaround integration.
• Strong project management, leadership, and conflict resolution skills.
• Good knowledge of turnaround, maintenance, and reliability practices.
• Demonstrated commitment to high safety standards.
• Expert leadership, conflict resolution, and team-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accountability for turnaround performance in safety, quality, scope, schedule, cost, and readiness.
• Embed safety and quality as core values in all turnaround activities and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead risk-based scope development and optimization for maintenance, reliability, inspection, and regulatory needs.
• Integrate capital projects, maintenance and reliability work within turnaround plans.
• Oversee shutdown, startup, decommissioning, commissioning and turnover activities.
• Develop and execute the integrated turnaround schedule with critical path reviews.
• Provide leadership to turnaround, project, operations, maintenance, engineering, and contractor teams.
• Oversee budgeting, cost forecasting, overhead allocation, and resource planning.
• Develop contracting and procurement strategies, including contractor selection and bid evaluations.
• Ensure readiness through planning, validation of work packages, staffing, and logistics.
• Monitor execution performance and manage risks and emergent work.
• Communicate with stakeholders on readiness, status, and recovery actions.
• Ensure governance with Nutrien processes and milestones throughout lifecycle.
• Lead turnaround closeout with lessons learned and continuous improvement.
