Job summary

Signode is seeking a Plant Manager to lead one of our key facilities. You will build a strong culture, drive Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale, and run a 24/7 operation if needed.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in manufacturing with at least 5–7 years in a managerial or supervisory role
• Previous plant manager experience is required
• Strong knowledge of safety metrics and programs
• TPM mastery and Lean manufacturing experience
• Experience leading a turnaround factory
• Extrusion technical skills
• ERP knowledge a plus

Responsibilities

• Directly manage and coordinate the activities of various plant departments and sites within Signode.
• Provide strong leadership to the manufacturing team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve production goals, optimize processes, and enhance overall plant efficiency.
• Communicate, uphold and enforce safety protocols and regulatory compliance to maintain a safe and secure working environment.
• Responsible for talent management and employee lifecycle activities, from hiring to terminating.
• Collaborate with senior management to align plant operations with organizational objectives.
• Monitor and analyze production metrics, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Implement efficiency improvement initiatives and address any bottlenecks or issues in the production process.
• Efficiently allocate resources, including manpower and equipment, to meet production schedules and deadlines.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure optimal functionality of machinery and equipment.
• Collaborate with the quality control department to ensure that products meet or exceed quality standards.
• Implement measures to address any deviations or non-conformities in the production process.
• Develop and manage budgets for the manufacturing facility(s), controlling costs and optimizing resource utilization.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to improve overall plant profitability.
• Effectively communicate with senior management, department heads, and front-line staff to ensure clear understanding of goals and objectives.
• Prepare regular reports on plant performance, production metrics, and other relevant KPIs.
• Lead and support initiatives for continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance plant processes, reduce waste, and increase overall efficiency.
