Job summary

Archer is seeking a Design Engineer, Turboshaft Integration in San Jose, California to own the integration of the turboshaft into the aircraft and manage mechanical interfaces, ensuring safe operation in its environment. You will collaborate across disciplines, define test conditions, optimize install for mass and performance, and contribute to certification readiness.

A PhD/MS/BS in a related field and 8+ years of systems integration experience are required; Siemens NX and MATLAB/Simulink

Qualifications

• BS / MS / PhD in a related scientific or engineering field.
• 8+ years experience in complex systems integration.
• Strong fundamentals and demonstrated understanding of complex system integration.
• Experience with Siemens NX and suite of tools.
• A systematic approach to problem-solving and the ability to communicate complex, technical rationale to multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• Extremely self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience writing comprehensive technical reports and documents.

Responsibilities

• Own the integration of the turboshaft into the aircraft.
• Manage mechanical interfaces.
• Oversee smooth operation of the turboshaft with its interfaces.
• Oversee correct operation of the turboshaft in its operating environment.
• Manage fuel, oil, exhaust, thermal and all other systems integrations.
• Define pass criteria and testing conditions for performance verification.
• Optimize installation for mass, performance, maintainability and safety.
