Job summary

Valar Atomics is seeking a turbomachinery structures engineer to join the turbomachinery team and advance power generation capability. In this role, you’ll be responsible for analyzing rotating components for structural margin and life, and defining a manufacturable, high efficiency, robust design.

You’ll work with cross-functional team members to define required clearances and directly influence design decisions as an early hire in turbomachinery within a high-impact startup environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 3+ years of structural analysis of rotating components.
• Experience with FEA software such as ANSYS, Nastran, or Abaqus.
• Experience with high-speed rotating equipment including gas/steam turbines, blowers, turboexpanders, turbopumps.

Responsibilities

• Analyze turbomachinery components for structural margin and life.
• Quantify deflection and growth of turbomachinery in operation.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to define required clearances.
