Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace, within Engines and Power Systems, is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to lead design, analysis, and testing of fans and compressors for turbomachinery applications. You will drive FEA, data analysis, and test activities across lifecycles, while mentoring junior engineers and guiding design reviews.

The role spans collaboration on turbofan, turboshaft, and APU programs, leveraging CAD tools and scripting to optimize performance and reliability in demanding aerospace

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 7+ years’ experience in mechanical design and analysis of aerospace components.
• 3+ years’ experience working with turbomachinery components.
• 7+ years’ experience with FEA software ANSYS APDL or ANSYS Mechanical.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of rotating and static turbomachinery components such as rotors, stators, blisks, disks and impellers.
• Lead design and analysis tasks including modal, vibration, deflection, crack growth, burst, fatigue, thermal and stack analyses with FEA.
• Lead testing of components and engine modules in rig, development, and production stages; perform data reduction/analysis on test data.
• Generate documentation capturing engineering results and findings from design, simulation, analysis and test activities.
• Oversee generation and presentation of engineering artifacts during design reviews.
• Lead technical mentoring, tool/process improvements and knowledge capture.
• Lead teams of junior engineers in day-to-day technical tasks.
• Lead proposal activities supporting various commercial and military customers.
