Job summary

Kratos Defense and Security Solutions is seeking a Rotating Component Design Release Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI. You will own turbomachinery component designs from concept through production release, ensuring they meet performance, structural, and manufacturing requirements.

You will collaborate with Design, Product, Performance, Systems, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure robust, manufacturable hardware and timely customer delivery.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 3–8 years of turbomachinery design experience.
• Experience with propulsion systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings.
• Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and development of rotating turbomachinery components.
• Support creation of 3D CAD models and 2D drawings.
• Ensure designs meet structural, thermal, and performance requirements.
• Maintain documentation and configuration control in PLM/PDM systems.
• Coordinate tests, analyses, and root-cause investigations.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams for producibility.
• Participate in design reviews and engineering milestones.
