Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. in Jupiter, Florida seeks a Systems Engineering Lead for advanced turbomachinery and power systems programs. You will translate customer needs into verifiable requirements and guide design, test, and fielded support across multiple disciplines.

This leadership role emphasizes risk management, program technical status reviews, and collaboration with government and industry stakeholders to ensure system integrity and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (Master’s preferred) and extensive experience leading turbomachinery programs.
• Demonstrated ability to decompose complex system requirements into subsystem-level allocations.
• Strong background in Safety, Reliability & Maintainability processes and FMEA/FMECA.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical lead across multidisciplinary turbomachinery design teams, ensuring system-level objectives are met.
• Lead technical decision-making and resolve cross-discipline design issues while balancing schedule and cost.
• Interpret top-level requirements from PMs and customers, translating into actionable engineering direction.
• Develop and maintain system architecture, allocations, flowdown, and interface control for internal/external interfaces.
• Drive verification and validation from definition through qualification, including traceability and evidence closure.
• Coordinate activities across engineering, suppliers, manufacturing, and customers; manage risks and trade studies.
• Mentor engineers and promote disciplined systems engineering throughout the lifecycle.
