Job summary

Ursa Major seeks a Turbomachinery Design Engineer II to advance turbopump design across engine platforms. You will own turbopump subcomponents, support testing, and contribute to cross-functional design decisions.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical or aerospace engineering, 3+ years in design and hardware environments, and experience with CAD tools. Colorado location, full-time exempt role with a fast-paced startup culture.

Qualifications

• B.S. in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 3+ years design, development, and testing.
• 3+ years hardware-focused experience.
• Experience with CAD software (NX or Creo).

Responsibilities

• Perform clean sheet turbopump subcomponent and assembly design.
• Incorporate design modifications to improve performance and manufacturability.
• Support turbomachinery root-cause analysis efforts.
• Ensure turbopumps meet system-level requirements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, analysis, and test teams to reduce variation and improve yield.
• Support assembly of first article prototypes.
