Job summary

Ursa Major in Colorado is seeking a staff turbopump engineer to advance turbomachinery technology across multiple engine platforms. You will own portions of turbopump design and contribute to engine test and development.

The role requires a BS in mechanical or aerospace engineering, 8+ years in turbomachinery, CAD in NX or Creo, and experience with ANSYS/CFD. Join a fast-paced startup environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 8+ years’ experience in turbomachinery design and development.
• 5+ years’ experience with CAD software, preferably Siemens NX or PTC Creo.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, startup environment.
• Experience in one or more areas: rotor dynamics; turbine stage aero‑mechanical design; hydrodynamic design of pumps / inducers; turbomachinery layout.

Responsibilities

• Support conceptual design and development of new Turbomachinery as subject matter expert.
• Collaborate with Turbomachinery Design team to produce high-performing, manufacturable turbomachinery designs.
• Support existing Turbomachinery to troubleshoot performance or reliability issues in area(s) of expertise.
