Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis is seeking a Component Design Engineer for turbomachinery transmissions. You will join the Global Mechanical Systems Capability and deliver component design artifacts that satisfy system and sub-system requirements, ensuring manufacturability and on-time delivery.

You will work within the Product Lifecycle System and RRMS policies to enable lifecycle profitability. The role emphasizes design, analysis, and field-ready hardware release, with involvement across supply

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 1+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or JD/PhD in mechanical engineering.
• US citizenship is required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Deliver new component designs, analyses and changes within the DTA gated process.
• Support supply chain in procuring hardware and DAR execution.
• Provide engineering support for Engine Investigations and Technical Variance analysis.
• Develop and specify component design requirements per module and system needs.
• Address manufacturing, assembly, in-field and aftermarket issues as they arise.
• Participate in or lead RCCA activities.
