Job summary

Boom Technology seeks a Turbine Aerodynamics Lead to own the Symphony turbine system development, focusing on high- and low-pressure sections, aero design, and performance mapping. You will work with designers, systems leads, and test engineers to integrate engine propulsion with airframe goals.

You will develop CFD-based airfoils, meanline models, and test plans, coordinating with suppliers and leadership to ensure manufacturing success and on-time milestones for the Symphony program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Experience in axial turbomachinery design and CFD analysis.
• CAD proficiency to support module integration.
• Programming ability in Python or similar language.
• Experience with engine cycle analysis tools (NPSS/PyCycle).
• Willingness to contribute across design, testing, and integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of the Symphony turbine system (HP and LP) with performance/aerodynamics focus.
• Design airfoils and flowpath using CFD analysis.
• Develop 1D meanline models; design blading and performance maps; support rig tests.
• Coordinate with leadership and suppliers to meet manufacturing metrics.
• Develop and integrate toolchains for integrated engine, propulsion, and airframe analyses.
• Contribute across all Symphony engine development activities and testing.
