The Department of Health and Human Services is seeking an Epidemiologist to focus on infectious diseases, particularly tuberculosis. Responsibilities include conducting surveillance, managing data, and collaborating with healthcare partners to improve public health outcomes. The Maine Center for Disease Control & Prevention is seeking a Tuberculosis Epidemiologist. In this position, you will serve as an epidemiologist focusing on Infectious Diseases in Maine. You will be responsible for conducting public health surveillance of tuberculosis, latent tuberculosis infection, and other infectious airborne and contact illnesses. This position initiates public health actions to control and/or prevent the spread of these infectious diseases in Maine. You will develop, manage, and evaluate statewide infectious disease surveillance systems; conduct public health interventions; participate in outbreak investigations; and provide consultation on reportable disease conditions to protect the health of Maine citizens and visitors.

Minimum Qualifications:
A Master’s Degree in Epidemiology or closely related field or a Bachelor’s Degree in Epidemiology or closely related field with two (2) years of professional experience in epidemiology. Equivalent related experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
