Job summary

Technique is seeking a Tube Bending Technician at our Jackson, Michigan facility. The role involves operating CNC tube bending machinery, saws, and end forming equipment with a focus on accuracy, geometry, and part tolerances. You will read blueprints, set up fixtures, and program inspection routines to ensure quality parts.

Qualified candidates have 1+ year in metal forming, with 2+ years in fabrication preferred. Training opportunities exist to advance to Levels 2 and 3 as skills grow.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; vocational training preferred.
• At least 1 year of related machine operating experience.
• At least 2 years in metal fabrication/machining preferred.
• Manual or CNC tube bending experience desired.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Proficient with measuring instruments to inspect work.
• Basic CAD/CAM training/knowledge a plus.
• Manual machining experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Start up and shut down benders.
• Maintain bender tooling and perform weekly maintenance.
• Read blueprints and set up parts to fixtures.
• Understand part geometry and centerline radius.
• Create part inspection programs using coordinates.
• Inspect parts and recall programs.
• Check drop dimensions on prints with basic tools.
• Operate saws to cut blanks and the end former.
• Work independently and follow directions.
• Set up, program, and develop single stack tool jobs on the BLM bender.
