Job summary

Technique Inc. is seeking a Tube Bending Technician for our Michigan facility. The role covers startup, programming, and setup of CNC and manual benders, plus tool maintenance and inspection. Strong blueprint reading and measuring skills, plus CAD/CAM familiarity, are important for success.

You will read prints, set up fixtures, and develop part programs while working independently in a fast-paced metal fabrication environment. There is a clear path for advancement as skills grow.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; vocational training preferred.
• At least 1 year of related machine operating experience in a metal forming operation.
• At least 2 years in solid metal fabrication/machining environment preferred.
• Manual or CNC tube bending experience highly desired.
• Must read and interpret blueprints.
• Proficient in using measuring instruments to inspect own work.
• Basic CAD/CAM training/knowledge is a plus.
• Manual machining experience (drill press, mill, lathe, grinder) a plus.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
• This position is active and requires standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
• No travel required; must be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Start up and shut down benders.
• Maintain bender tooling and perform weekly preventative maintenance.
• Read blueprints and set up parts to a fixture.
• Understand part geometry and centerline radius.
• Create part inspection programs from coordinates and tolerances.
• Inspect parts and recall programs as needed.
• Check drop dimensions on prints and fixtures.
• Operate saws (cold and chop) to cut blanks.
• Operate the I/O End Former.
• Work independently following directions.
• Set up, program, and develop single stack tool jobs on the BLM bender unassisted.
