Job summary

Sanborn Tube Sales of Wisconsin Inc. is seeking a Tube Bending Operator to set up and run tube bending machines, review blueprints, select tooling, and verify dimensions to meet specifications. You will load and unload tubing, perform inspections, and document production data in the ERP system.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and safe handling of tubing materials. Preferred candidates have experience with CNC bending, tooling setup, and ERP/MRP systems,

Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand basic blueprints and manufacturing drawings.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, angle gauges, and other inspection equipment.
  • Basic understanding of dimensions, tolerances, angles, and measurements.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to safely lift, move, and handle tubing and production materials.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate tube bending machines and related equipment.
  • Review work orders, drawings, specifications, and setup instructions before beginning production.
  • Select and install the proper tooling, dies, clamps, and other bending components.
  • Verify machine settings and adjust programs or parameters as required.
  • Load and unload tubing safely and correctly.
  • Perform first-piece inspections and in-process inspections using appropriate measuring equipment.
  • Measure bend locations, angles, lengths, and other critical dimensions to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Make machine adjustments to maintain part quality and dimensional accuracy.
  • Identify and communicate material, tooling, machine, or quality issues to the appropriate supervisor or lead.
  • Monitor machine operation and production rates to meet established schedules.
  • Maintain accurate production and labor information in the company’s ERP system.
  • Properly identify, count, and package completed parts according to work instructions.
  • Complete required inspection and production documentation.
  • Perform routine machine cleaning, lubrication, and basic operator maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and established work instructions.
  • Assist with troubleshooting bending problems and work with manufacturing personnel to resolve issues.
  • Minimize scrap and material waste through proper setup and operation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Preferred:



  • Previous tube bending experience.

  • Experience with CNC tube benders.

  • Experience setting up bending tooling.

  • Experience with BLM or similar tube bending equipment.

  • Manufacturing experience involving steel, stainless steel, aluminum, or other tubular materials.

  • Experience using an ERP/MRP system.


Physical Requirements


  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, lift, and handle materials.

  • Ability to lift and move tubing and production components as required.

  • Ability to work around manufacturing machinery, noise, and production equipment.

  • Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, safety footwear, and other required protective equipment.
