Job summary

The University of Chicago’s Department of Philosophy invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, to start July 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter. We seek a scholar in Political Philosophy or 19th/20th-century European philosophy, who will pursue an independent research program and teach undergraduate and graduate courses.

The teaching load is typically four courses per year on the quarter system, with responsibilities including advising and service on

• Ambitious research agenda with originality and literature knowledge.
• Ability to teach core undergraduate and graduate courses in Philosophy.
